Frequently Asked Questions

How many spinal flow sessions will I need?

  • The number of sessions you will need is very personalized to you, your condition(s), level of commitment and goals. After an initial consultation and assessment of your spine, a treatment recommendation will be provided to align with your needs.

Is spinal flow safe with my condition?

  • Spinal Flow is extremely safe and gentle. We work with any condition and any age. There are no outright contraindications for Spinal Flow. An initial consultation and assessment are always provided prior to receiving sessions to ensure we can serve you best. I practice the technique purely as taught by the founder and do not add any additional or confounding modalities that could interfere during a session.

Are there any side effects?

  • It’s important to understand that your body is in control of the healing, the technique does not involve force or manipulation and since we are simply facilitating your body into a healing state, you will not end up with any conditions that you don’t already have. Although please note, as bones, joints, and muscles adjust positioning on their own it may cause temporary soreness or discomfort as you realign. You may experience some detox symptoms as you heal, if appropriate with your condition and the healing process.

How quickly will I see results?

  • Some people have big changes after the first session, and some people take several sessions to notice changes, and that’s perfectly ok. As your practitioner, I will be tracking your flow during each session to ensure you are making progress. Everyone heals and responds at their own pace. We will do a full assessment after each set of 12 sessions, including pictures, to monitor and celebrate your changes.

How often should I receive sessions?

  • The frequency of sessions needed is very individualized. To get the best results, as quickly as possible, it is likely that you will need to come multiple times per week in the beginning. As you progressively release layers of stress and blockages from your spine, we will work together to taper down or adjust the frequency to align with your goals.

Do you take insurance?

  • We accept HSA/FSA card payments. However, major medical insurance such as an HMO or PPO plan is not accepted, as we are currently unable to receive direct reimbursement on insurance claims.

Can children do spinal flow?

  • Yes! Any age is welcome; we can treat people from the first day of life to the last. Pregnant mothers as well!

How long are the sessions?

  • For adults/adolescents, each Spinal Flow treatment session is about 20-30 minutes. For younger children, sessions are catered to their response. Typically, children respond quickly and do not require as much time as adults.

What should I wear?

  • It is ideal to wear comfortable clothing such as a t-shirt and comfortable pants such as sweats, joggers, or yoga pants but no tight spandex or shapewear. Jeans are not ideal. Please do not wear a hoodie during sessions or assessment visits; it prevents adequate view and access to the upper spine.
  • Please note, your initial visit & every 12th visit will include pictures of your posture; this requires good visibility of your spine. Please do not wear anything too baggy. Clothes that fit adequately and show the contour of the spine and shoulders are ideal.

What should I expect afterward?

  • You may feel amazing after a session, or you may feel changes that don’t feel so great. We celebrate ALL changes; this means you are healing and moving toward greater health.
  • Every session is different! If you experience any discomfort or worrisome changes, it is VERY important to notify me! Coming in for another session is the best and fastest way to clear any undesirable symptoms as you move through the healing process. Don’t stay stuck in the uncomfortable stage. You’ll thank me later if you stick with the recommendations on when to come, it will be worth it!
  • As your spine realigns, bones, muscles, ligaments, facia are adjusting too. Just know any major physical shifts may result in temporary soreness or discomfort. Again, please remember to keep a consistent schedule of visits, and contact me with any concerns so we can work you in sooner if needed.
  • It is absolutely wonderful if you to share your amazing feel-good changes too! Common things clients report include, but are not limited to:
  • Better sleep
  • Improved digestion and bowel movements
  • Less pain, stiffness, or discomfort
  • Less stress
  • More peace
  • Improved awareness
  • More energy
  • Improved immune function, including natural detoxification
  • Improved hormone balance, including better periods and increased fertility
  • Spine alignment
  • Old injuries heal
  • and so much more than we can list here!

What should I expect on the first visit?

  • Your initial visit includes a review of your history and the condition(s) you are seeking care for, assessment of your posture (including pictures), assessment of your spine and blockages. We’ll discuss the Spinal Flow Technique, answer any questions, and provide a recommended treatment schedule to align with your goals.
  • Please wear something comfortable but not too baggy, no hoodie unless you can remove it, if your hair is long it will need to be pulled up/back.
  • The consultation and assessment is typically about 30-45 minutes. If you booked your initial session for the same day, then you will receive your first spinal flow session which is about 20-30 minutes. Altogether, the assessment, consultation, and initial session lasts about 60-75 minutes.

What can I do to optimize my results?

What you do outside of your sessions and in your daily life can have a big impact.

  • It is important to stay hydrated by drinking purified water throughout the day; a good rule of reference is to drink half of your body weight in fluid ounces; for example, if you weigh 160 lbs drinking 80 oz is generally recommended.
  • Eat a clean, healthy diet; cut out or limit junk food and fast food, add in a variety of organic fruits and vegetables.
  • Get regular exercise, it does not need to be extreme, even just going for a walk every day can help keep things moving!
  • Be mindful and listen to your body. Don't strain yourself. Pay attention to your posture while lifting or performing repetitive tasks. If you sit for long periods, try to stand up and move around a little every hour.
  • Get some sunshine when you can! Your body needs vitamin D and we produce it by sun exposure. Vitamin D helps support your immune system, bones, and other functions in your body. Morning sun is best, it provides a red light spectrum and is very beneficial to our circadian rhythm.
  • If you need to get additional rest, allow yourself some extra down time and aim to get a good night sleep. Staying off screens or using blue-light blockers for 1-2 hours before bed can help. Turn off, or put your devices on airplane mode, and consider turning off your Wi-Fi router while you sleep to limit EMF exposure.
  • Some people like to journal their thoughts, feelings and experiences.
